Introduction

Ever felt like a conductor in an orchestra? Everyone's playing their part and there you are, you’re coordinating, you’re harmonizing; ensuring the symphony sounds just right. Well, if you have, then you might just have the Spiritual Gift of Administration. Today we are going to explore seven ways you can use this beautiful gift to impact your community. Well come to think of it, you will be exploring, I already wrote this so I am one up on you. Regardless look at these different ways and you will make your community stronger, more connected, and more attuned to God's love.

Building Strong Communication Channels

"A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver." Proverbs 25:11 (KJV)

Proverbs talks about the beauty and value of well-spoken words. Something myself as a writer can truly appreciate. As someone with the Spiritual Gift of Administration, you know how to communicate effectively, whether it is on paper or discussed verbally, ensuring everyone is on the same page.

Good communication is often the bedrock of any community no matter the level. Your family, a small group, a neighborhood, town, or city. Your ability to articulate visions, share ideas, and foster open dialogue can greatly enhance your community's cohesion and effectiveness. The key to all of this is not going around and talking but create dialogue that is two ways.

Real-Life Application: Speak with your Pastor at your church. Volunteer to start a Bible study group where you can facilitate discussions, ensuring everyone's voice is heard and understood. This doesn’t have to be a small group where you are teaching and everyone listens. A great small group is a group that discusses with each other and they need someone administratively speaking to moderate it all.

Organizing Effective Community Events

"Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour." Ecclesiastes 4:9 (KJV)

Ecclesiastes highlights the value of collective effort. Remember the saying “two heads are better than one” or “Many hands make like work”? With your gift of administration, you can bring people together for meaningful, impactful events. And of course, with someone putting it all together, it can blend seamlessly.

Community events, whether it's a charity fundraiser, a prayer meeting, or a neighborhood clean-up drive, require careful planning and coordination. Your administrative skills can ensure these events are successful and fulfilling to not just you, but everyone that is involved.

Real-Life Application: Figure out something that you are passionate about that will serve those around you in your community. You could organize a community event locally that brings people together for a good cause. Take the time to choose something that you are passionate about and not something on a whim. Your passion will rub off on others and inspire everyone else to work harder.

Facilitating Resource Allocation

"Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver." 2 Corinthians 9:7 (KJV)

2 Corinthians teaches us about the joy of giving. As an administrator, you can oversee the collection and distribution of resources in your community. You have the ability to make sure that those are in need get what they need.

Effectively managing resources can ensure everyone's needs are met and no one feels left out or burdened. It's a crucial task where your administrative gift can truly shine in such a needed space.

Real-Life Application: Choose to manage a charity drive. This charity can be for a certain demographic that you think desperately needs help, like children, the elderly, or first-time mothers. If you want something longer term and not just a drive then help manage a community food bank, ensuring resources reach those who need them the most.

Coordinating Volunteer Efforts

"And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." Galatians 6:9 (KJV)

Galatians encourages us not to grow tired of doing good. Truthfully, volunteering takes a lot out of people. It can be emotionally exhausting. With your administrative skills, you can ensure volunteers remain motivated and their efforts are utilized effectively.

Coordinating volunteers is no easy task. Volunteers come with a bunch of different personalities. And those personalities might have different ideas on how things need to be done. After all, everyone has an opinion. However, with your gift of administration, you can provide structure and direction, fostering a sense of unity and purpose among the volunteers.

Real-Life Application: Volunteer to coordinate a community service project. This project could be a short-term project that only lasts for the weekend, or it could be something more long term that needs your skills at managing schedules, and delegating tasks.

Ensuring Smooth Church Operations

"And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him." Colossians 3:17 (KJV)

Colossians encourages us to do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus. With your administrative skills, you can ensure your church operates smoothly, serving its congregation effectively. Not kidding on this one, churches need more people to step it up in this category that what you realize. There are many people out there will to serve, but they do not how to execute administratively speaking.

Smooth church operations allow for a more fulfilling worship experience for everyone. This starts in the parking lot, in your welcome center, and even in the children’s ministry of your church. This doesn’t mean that you are the person that is pointing at things and telling people to do stuff. Your skills can assist in everything from scheduling services to organizing church finances as well.

Real-Life Application: This one is simple: offer your skills to help with the administrative tasks in your church. Go to the volunteer desk and tell them what your spiritual gift is. If you are not clear with the volunteer / serving team then they will not place you in the spot where you can do the most good.

Promoting Community Growth

"Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety." Proverbs 11:14 (KJV)

Proverbs talks about the importance of wise counsel. Very rarely is someone who is going to take on an important decision going to do it alone, or just ask one person what their opinion is. Your administrative skills can contribute to decisions that promote growth and development in your community as being a sound board on future projects.

Thoughtful, strategic planning can help communities flourish, ensuring they continue to provide for their members and attract new ones. This is true for the church, but it can be true for tons of other stuff. Your Home Owners Association (if you have one), a Facebook group, a fan club, the list really is endless.

Real-Life Application: Offer to help in the community's decision-making processes, bringing your administrative skills to the table.

Serving as a Role Model

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matthew 5:16 (KJV)

Matthew asks us to shine our light so others may see our good works and glorify God. This verse applies to all of us as Christians. As an administrator, your strong leadership and commitment can inspire others in your community no matter the size.

After looking at all of these ways, you might be thinking that you need a large group, which just isn’t the case. You could be using your Spiritual Gift of Administration while homeschooling your children. Also, being a role model doesn't just mean leading; it also means listening, empathizing, and empowering. Your actions can inspire others to discover and utilize their spiritual gifts.

Real-Life Application: Show up and show out. Your actions as an effective leader and organizer can inspire others in your community. Take that action.
